Academic Job Search for PhDs and Postdocs

As fall approaches and the weather and leaves begin to change, you know that the academic job search season is upon us.  In the next few weeks and months, academic institutions across the country will begin to post open faculty positions.  These positions will have deadlines ranging throughout the fall semester, and many will require multiple documents which require a great deal of thought and planning.  Don’t be lulled into thinking that the deadlines are far away and you will have plenty of time to draft your CV, cover letter, research, teaching, and diversity statements.  These documents take time and as a PhD student or postdoc, you are likely busy with your research and lab work, teaching responsibilities and completing your dissertation.

The good news is that Career Services is here to help and we have multiple resources as well as workshops and programs designed to assist you in this process.  Here are some resources and events that anyone on the academic job market should check out!
