This summer, I was welcomed to the DaVita Corporate Office Headquarters in Denver, Colorado for DaVita’s School Partner Day. Since this introduction to DaVita was so helpful for me as a Career Services adviser, I wanted to highlight the upcoming Sophomore Leadership Summit July 15 – 17 in Denver as an excellent opportunity to learn more about all DaVita can offer. The culmination of this summit is a DaVita case competition that introduces participants to a variety of DaVita’s strategic initiatives, which is an opportunity I know many Penn students would love to get this summer. After the summit, participants may be selected to interview or join the Summer Analyst class of 2021. DaVita will be on campus March 31 to interview applicants for the summit, so if you can be in Denver in July, go ahead and apply! You have until Sunday, March 15.
During my visit, I was fascinated to learn about the Redwoods Undergraduate Programs, and to realize that opportunities at DaVita extend far beyond kidney dialysis! During the two-day program, school partners learned about DaVita’s strategic plan, how the company is revolutionizing kidney care at all stages, starting well before late-stage renal disease, and even got to hear from the new CEO Javier Rodriguez (who started in his role only one month before our visit!) about his vision for DaVita’s “village.”
We also heard from current interns (who would learn if they received an offer by the last day of the program) about their work in all facets of DaVita’s business, from research to real estate. They all mentioned how they were able to really own their projects, and presented their ideas and work regularly to executives. We were impressed by the support the Redwoods program offers, and how genuinely invested DaVita is in the employees who comprise its village.
DaVita was so warm and welcoming to its Career Services partners, I’m excited for all of the students who will be able to participate in the Sophomore Summit.
