Looking for the Soundtrack to Your Finals Study Session?

The semester is winding down and finals are coming up soon! Since many of you are getting ready to hole up and hit the books, here are some videos, playlists, and albums to have on in the background for your next study session! Good luck!

If you like white noise, try studying to rain sounds. This is perfect for when you need to dial in on a project for a long amount of time, but you don’t want to be distracted by rhythm or melody.

If you need a relaxing beat to keep you going, try listening to Lo-Fi beats on Spotify or if you like something even longer, try the go-to YouTube station lofi hip hop radio – beats to relax/study to.

If you like piano, check out Peaceful Piano on Spotify. This playlist can both calm you and give you just enough background music to focus. If you like jazz, check out In a Silent Way by Miles Davis or this video of jazz in a coffeeshop on a rainy day.

If you like ambient music, try Deep Listening by Pauline Oliveros, Stuart Dempster, and Panaiotis.  If you want to listen for longer, you can loop YouTube videos by right clicking on them and hitting ‘Loop.’

If you like studying with others, try studying with friend over the phone (to minimize screen fatigue). Another great option is ‘Study with Me’ videos on YouTube, featuring the Pomodoro method.

For study breaks, or if you just want to get up and dance and feel like you’re at party, check out a Boiler Room set!
