This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to intern at JNK Securities in New York City as a Research Analyst. From June to August 2024, I immersed myself in the fast-paced world of equities research, focusing on emerging trends in the AI, blockchain, and semiconductor industries. My role involved analyzing these trends to identify potential investment opportunities and risks. This deep dive into cutting-edge technologies allowed me to develop a keen understanding of the market dynamics and the factors driving innovation in these sectors.
One of the key responsibilities during my internship was updating and building financial models for the technology companies we followed. This task required me to incorporate revenue projections, expense analysis, and capital expenditures into our models. Through this process, I honed my analytical skills and gained practical experience in financial modeling. The hands-on approach at JNK Securities enabled me to apply my academic knowledge in a real-world setting, enhancing my ability to make informed investment decisions.
Additionally, I played a crucial role in coordinating corporate access and sales outreach to various hedge funds. This aspect of my internship was particularly rewarding as it involved facilitating key relationships and business opportunities. Working closely with industry professionals, I learned the importance of effective communication and relationship management in the finance sector. Overall, my summer at JNK Securities was a transformative experience that provided me with invaluable insights and skills, setting a strong foundation for my future career in finance.
