Describe your experience working with your host.
I was hosted by Dr. Stavros Kopsiaftis from Merck Discovery Oncology. Dr. Kopsiaftis provided invaluable guidance, actively assisting me in navigating my career aspirations. He took the time to understand my interests and goals, offering tailored advice and facilitating connections with other professionals in the field. Dr. Kopsiaftis’s mentorship was instrumental in shaping my understanding of a career in the pharmaceutical industry and refining my career goals.
What did you learn from this opportunity (about yourself, potential career fields, the job search, etc.)?
Participating in the CEF program broadened my understanding of career possibilities beyond academia and enhanced my networking abilities. Through interactions with professionals and attending workshops, I gained insights into diverse career paths and developed essential skills for conducting informational interviews. This experience also gave me clarity about my own career goals and aspirations.
How did your CEF experience benefit your future career plans?
My CEF experience has equipped me with a deeper understanding of the process of drug discovery in the pharmaceutical industry. It has also helped me expand my professional network and refine skills such as networking and communication.
What was the most valuable part of your CEF experience?
The most valuable aspect of my CEF experience was the opportunity to engage with professionals in the field through informational interviews.
