Job Description
The role of the Sr. Industrial Engineer is to identify opportunities to enhance distribution/industrial engineering programs that will drive improvements in Distribution/Supply Chain flow, productivity, accuracy, and safety and to execute implementation through project management. This includes fully leveraging Dick’s Sporting Goods Labor Management System (LMS) and supporting internal labor program.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Labor Management
Creation of engineered labor standards
Configuration and maintenance of engineered labor standards
Training and end user support
Assist in ad hoc Labor Management analysis to drive the distribution and logistics best practices
Operations Support
Overall engineering support at the distribution center for productivity initiatives, special projects, etc.
Document and update standard operating procedures
Develop and propose continuous improvement initiatives (layout and process) within the operations
Technical
Labor Management System: Configuration, maintenance, mapping, troubleshooting, travel, etc.
Warehouse Management System: Knowledge to provide configuration guidance and troubleshooting assistance as well as aspects that impact the Labor Management System (example: location mapping).
Supply Chain Business Intelligence (SCI): Partnering with BI team to develop, design, and validate new reporting or KPI’s as it relates to network Labor Management and Productivity metrics.
Evaluate, identify, and implement new technologies to maximize efficiencies in operations.
Leadership
Lead network projects as a project manager, collaborating with cross functional departments
Provide direction to and manage workflow for direct reports as it relates to daily responsibilities, project execution, data analysis, etc.
Monitor associate performance and behavior and provide appropriate feedback, recognition, development, and performance management, independently and in conjunction with Manager and/or Human Resources
