Pay: $60,000 / Year

Work Location: New York City. The commute is a part of the job, and you must go wherever is required by the organization within New York City (such as Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, etc). Two to three schools per week (1 school per 1 – 2 day)*
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm ET, on weekend only as needed to support with company’s event(s)

Essential functions:
- The schools has an increasing number of immigrant enrollment with students and families that speak Spanish, therefore we are looking for candidates who speak spanish (however this is not a strict requirement)
- The commute is a part of the job, and you must go wherever is required by the organization within New York City (such as Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, etc).
- Provide one-on-one and group counseling to assigned youth using a variety of evidence-based interventions and culturally sensitive therapeutic approaches
- Develop treatment plans for students in support of students’ social, emotional, and behavioral goals
- Complete psychosocial assessments to evaluate the mental, social, and functional capacity of students
- Assesses a student in terms of personal and family history, social-economic and cultural differences.
- Provide crisis intervention for students as needed
- Offer mentoring and suggestions for Teachers and other school personnel
- Communicate and collaborate with school officials including principals, guidance counselors, and school psychologists
- Communicate with clients’ parents and provide regular updates regarding their child’s progress
- Assist with parent-focused and teacher-focused workshops as needed
- Participate in the evaluation, classification and placement of all pupils with special needs.
- Maintain an ongoing relationship with families for the purpose of- sharing information regarding educational planning and programming for the student; assisting the family in utilizing appropriate community resources; and assisting the family and/or students to facilitate social adjustment.
- Consult with administration and staff regarding social adjustment factors of students in schools, at home and in the community.
- May counsel groups of students and/or parents regarding social adjustment problems.
- Develop and maintain appropriate written reports and records.
- Maintain appropriate case records and act as case manager for designated students.
- Assist in coordinating, developing, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of Individualized Education Plans.
- Observe pupils in classrooms and/or the playground, as appropriate.
- Supervise Social Work Interns.
- Must maintain a caseload minimum of 33 students for individual counseling students per academic year, and 55 students for group sessions per academic year.*
- Attend agency community events including annual charity events, community events, school events, and other events as required.
- Conduct home visits as needed for high-risk clients.
- Engage in research and evaluation efforts, track and measuring clients’ clinical, and academic outcomes
- During summer time DOE schools are closed therefore this role becomes hybrid
- Assume other related duties/assignments during the assigned working day, as the administration deems necessary.
Skills and Requirements:
- Must provide LMSW License (Licensed Master Social Worker)
- Must provide LMSW Registration certificate
- Must provide copy of MSW College Diploma
- 3 years of social work experience (internships experiences counted / considered)
- SIFI Certification preferred but not required
- Proficiency in use of G-Suite (gmail, spreadsheet, docs) and Caseload Documentation preferred
- Must have experience working in a school setting
- Must have experience working with students/clients any ages in elementary to high school grades

Physical and or mental requirement: Possess social perceptiveness. Ability to understand the importance of discretion and confidentiality. Bending, crawling, stooping, standing, vision, lifting, and walking. Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shift, move throughout the building to access files, must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment, must be able to adhere to process protocol, must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner. Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors/stakeholders, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota. Able to travel within New York City.
Technology requirement: Comfortable communicating via email and phone, proficient in Microsoft-suite and Google Workspace (G-suite). This job requires the use of a personal laptop, Ipad or computer, and phone and notebooks for case intakes and for tracking case loads.
