Description:
The Strategy and Managerial Consultant is responsible for designing and solutioning of transformational programs and initiatives for Kaiser Permanente Georgia (KPGA). In partnership with Business Leaders, the Consultant will identify and solve issues related to KPGA’s most critical strategic challenges across a variety of functional areas (e.g. care management, medical cost reduction, growth).
These efforts will involve leveraging data analytics, functional area expertise, and stakeholder input to help identify and solve opportunities to capture value and ultimately increase revenue and savings for KPGA.
The expectation of this role is to work in an entrepreneurial fashion in order to help generate hypotheses, conduct initial data analysis and evaluate hypothesis, and work with the team to develop predicted timelines for each hypothesis / initiative. Criteria for advancement includes expanded skills and knowledge based on experience, record of success (key KPIs to be defined), and job assignments.
This role will focus on non-clinical/non-hospital settings. The type of work is broadly similar to that performed by top-tier Management Consulting firms.
Essential Responsibilities:
Drives innovation, agility and automation through experimentation with new metrics and concepts to track actuals as initiatives move through development to implementation, constantly seeking ways to reduce inefficiencies.
Spearheads development of status update documentation and refinement, taking into account each stakeholder’s unique needs and desired visibility level.
Supports value targeting and implementation responsibilities. Conducts data analysis to determine the viability of opportunities, validates & refines hypotheses, drives solutioning, and quantifies hypothesis timelines.
Reports progress, risks and identifies analytics improvements to support remediation of impediments and blockers to the Managerial Consulting Senior Director.
Develops and delivers written and verbal presentations, briefings, and other communications in a compelling, visually driven, concise and informative manner.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
Minimum two (2) years experience with Bachelor’s degree OR Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Health Services Administration, or related field
Education
Bachelor’s degree or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration

Additional Requirements:
Internship or extracurricular experience in one or more of the following areas.
Experience in health plan & healthcare operations.
Experience in supporting financial planning & analytics.
Thorough understanding of data analytics methodology & applications.
Ability to communicate across a variety of stakeholders in varying organizational levels & functional areas – ability to articulate business requirements to technical resources for dynamic dashboard buildout required.
Payer and provider exposure in past professional experience and/or exposure in related coursework.
Experience in any of the following functional areas is preferred: Care Management, Pharmacy, Provider & Medical Vendor Contracting, Medical Cost Reduction/Overpayment reduction, Claims Utilization Management, Claims, Payer/Provider Claims in Healthcare.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong data analysis skills.
