  • Organizations interested in recruiting intern and full-time candidates at the undergraduate, Master’s, PhD and postdoctoral level within our highly ranked School of Engineering & Applied Science (as well as related STEM disciplines from across the University) are warmly invited to this event!  Please note there are two days/formats for this event – one virtual (9/15), one in-person (9/16), and for both events attending employers may specify the majors/programs and levels of the candidates with whom they wish to speak.  Employers, please choose the event format that best suits your recruiting preferences, as all student and alumni populations that we serve will be invited to both events.

We are also hosting a series of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion oriented events, detailed below, which require separate registration.

At the University of Pennsylvania‘s Engineering Career Days, you’ll be recruiting highly qualified undergraduate and graduate degree candidates, postdoctoral fellows and young alumni for internship and full-time employment with your organization – building and expanding your brand on campus as well as effectively growing your talent pipeline!

This event has traditionally drawn more than 1,400 candidates from our interdisciplinary and practice-oriented School of Engineering & Applied Science and the many other NSF-classified STEM disciplines across Penn’s twelve schools.  In the event registration, indicate exactly what type(s) of candidates you wish to recruit, and those students and alumni will be matched with your booth!

Please note the fair is not open to the general public, students from other colleges and universities, Wharton MBA or Penn Law students.

Employers attending our virtual 2022 event will benefit from:

  • Engaging through Handshake – a familiar and integrated platform which students and many employers already use for job listings, information sessions and campus interviews
  • Flexible communication options including video, audio, and text
  • As many representatives as you’d like from your organization (up to 100) may participate!
  • The ability to customize your “booth” similar to how you customize your Handshake profile
  • Various ways to connect with students including:
    • Pre-scheduled ten minute 1:1 appointments that allow students to form more meaningful connections with recruiters during the fair
    • Up to 20 thirty-minute group sessions that help students learn about your company

Cost: The fee for this event is $500 ($250 for non-profit, government employers and startups) which will be payable by credit card or check.  An Employer Sponsorship* option for the event is also available for employers interested in increasing their visibility through marketing with students prior to and during the fair.

*Employer Sponsorship Perks:

Recognition through student marketing in advance of the event – your organization’s logo included on all marketing distributed to students and academic departments, as well as featured on the event’s Handshake and web pages.

Why two Engineering Career Days in 2022?

To complement the hybrid approaches employers are bringing to recruiting in the 2022-2023 year, we are offering both virtual (9/15) and in-person (9/16) events.  For our in-person, the health and safety of our students and employer partners is of the highest concern to all of us, and we are confident that we will provide a safe and healthy environment in which students and employers may connect.

We encourage employers to register for either/both events no later than Friday August 26, 2022.  This will allow you time to set preferences on your 1:1 meetings and efficiently use your virtual event time.  Please refer to the event cancellation policy regarding refunds.  Please note that student/postdoc registration for this event will begin on Sunday September 11, 2022.

Don’t forget to view our complete list of 2022 virtual career fairs to find the events that are the best fit for your recruiting strategy. You can find more information on the fairs below on our website: https:/

Who will I connect with at this event?
This event is open to all students (undergraduate and graduate) of all majors. This is an opportunity for employers to share what DEI and belonging means for their organization by sharing resources, pipeline initiatives, and full-time/internship opportunities.

What is the event format?
The DEI networking event will be held virtually. The event will begin with a panel. The panel will consist of 5-6 sponsors moderated by a campus partner or student group leader. Directly following the panel, students and employers will make connections in breakout rooms.

Who should employers send to attend this event?
Representatives do not have to be from HR. Representatives need to be able to speak about diversity and inclusion and what that looks like at your company, including pipeline initiatives, internship/full-time opportunities, employee resource groups, and other ways in which your organization facilitates inclusion and belonging.
