Engineering Career Days – Employer FAQs

Hello!  If you are attending the University of Pennsylvania’s Engineering Career Days, please review the following helpful tips to prepare!

SHIPPING
Event shipping tips and best practices:
* Pack pre-filled return labels with your shipment whenever possible (and any needed packing tape and scissors if possible!)
* Clearly label your boxes/packages with your organization’s name, and the total number of packages if applicable (i.e. 1 of 3)
*Be sure your on-site team at the event knows to contact your preferred shipper for pick up after the event (after 3:00 PM) at the Sheraton location (3549 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104).  Alternately, there is a FedEx retail store from which your colleagues can ship their boxes, just a few blocks from the hotel.
*If you are using a third-party shipper (i.e. the boxes aren’t coming directly from your company), please make sure they include the organization’s name on the shipping label or package.
* Please ship your boxes to arrive no earlier than Wednesday September 4th; we are happy to store your materials and have them ready for your team’s arrival!
*Please also try to allow at least one extra day for your package(s) to arrive and be processed by the Hotel – the shipper may tell you it’s delivered through their tracking software, but sometimes it takes a little longer to make it to the event space!
* Lastly, please note Career Services is not able to ship packages on your behalf without a pre-paid label or account number, and neither our staff nor that of the Sheraton Hotel are responsible for any materials left behind by your on-site team at the fair.

By Flight:   Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), 7 miles SW of hotel – please note this hotel does not provide shuttle service.  Estimated taxi fare: 32 USD (one way)
By Train:  30 Street Station, Philadelphia, PA – hotel is 0.8 miles west
Parking: On-site garage (entrance between Market and Chestnut Streets on 36th), fee: 35 USD daily

DAY-OF SCHEDULE
8:30  am – 10:00 am            Employer Registration & Set Up  Continental Breakfast Available
10:00 am – 3:00 pm        Career Fair: Meet and share info with students
11:30 am – 1:30 pm              Boxed lunches available (please provide as much notice to event organizers as possible for specialty meals – kosher, gluten free, etc.)

TABLE/BOOTH SET-UP
Each Career Fair Table is 6 ft. long and approximately 2 ft. wide.  Electrical access is NOT guaranteed due to event layout and hotel facilities.  This is typically a sold-out event with very high student attendance; organizations are kindly requested to respect the space of their immediately adjacent neighboring employers when arranging booths.

WIRELESS ACCESS
Directions for wi-fi access provided by the Sheraton Hotel will be provided upon event check-in.
