November Humanities/Social Science PhD Alumni Q&A Chat: Teaching at Independent Schools

Are you a PhD student in the humanities or social sciences interested in teaching at an independent school?

Join us for this virtual Q&A chat with History alumna, Kelsey Norris Sokolsky, Ph.D., ’20, Upper School History Teacher at Severn School in Maryland. Dr. Sokolsky will discuss and answer questions about her role teaching at an independent school. She will provide advice on what you can do when you start your job search, and answer any questions you have related to her experience transitioning to a career off the tenure-track. This discussion will be a valuable resource for anyone considering teaching at an independent school after finishing the PhD – even if you are still several years from finishing up right now.

This program is open to all graduate students and postdocs.

Please register for this online event, and we will send you the online video link a few days before the event. If you have questions you would like the moderator to pose to Dr. Sokolsky, please send them to Helen Pho (helenpho@upenn.edu) in Career Services.
