The research intern/assistant will work with Dr. John Weathers to better understand teacher staffing problems in schools and with other education research and international development projects in education. Tasks will primarily include assisting with research, grant proposal development, and a variety of other related tasks to support education research and development projects.
We are looking for candidates who have some relevant skills that will be further developed via this opportunity. There is some limited funding to support an intern. More advanced skills could lead to a part-time paid research assistant position.
Candidates will have some facility with Microsoft Excel and Word. Ideally, a candidate will have some familiarity with Excel, SPSS, or other data analysis/statistical software programs. The candidate should be able to conduct online and library research, quickly synthesize large amounts of material, and communicate effectively orally and in writing. The candidate should be able to work independently, handle multiple and often challenging and ambiguous tasks, and meet deadlines. There is also some potential for collaboration with edtech software development, machine learning, and AI.
