The Lourie Center Clinic, Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Child Mental Health Therapist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Child Mental Health Therapist you will:
•Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality therapeutic care that is appropriate to the age, diagnoses, developmental state, and mental status of the clients that are assigned to their specific unit/department
•Initiate and implement complete, comprehensive psychosocial assessments
•Provide individual, group, and family therapies to clients and their families
•Participate in and interdisciplinary treatment team to propose and develop strategies and interventions that would promote excellent therapeutic outcomes
•Assist clients in their development of self-respect, dignity, integrity, and self-actualization through a multitude of traditional and adjunctive therapeutic services
•Document services provided and disseminate information/reports to community referral sources and agencies, i.e., DJS, DSS, HHS, APS, CPS, LCC, etc.
•Co-Ordinate with the interdisciplinary team, referral sources, and community resources aftercare and supportive services to ensure a successful discharge planning process
•Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to diffuse psychotic and/or behavioral crises to ensure client, unit, and staff safety an stability B
•Assess and intervene in cases of suspected/disclosed child/adult neglect/abuse issues
•Promote positive patient-family-community relations
•Supervise intern psychotherapeutic treatment of patients and their families including individual therapy, parent collateral work, family therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy. Monitor progress of patients in treatment and formally review treatment plan and goals regularly. Supervise intern consultation with other professionals working with the client to assure coordinated and comprehensive service delivery.
•Supervise intern documentation, including maintenance of charts in a complete, timely and legible form, including parent information forms, consent forms, data collection forms, progress notes, and treatment plans and goals as required by state DHMH
Qualifications include:
•LCSW-C, LCPC, or LMSW, LGPC required; OR Requires a Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Psychology with a specialty in clinical/ developmental psychology
•Excellent customer service and public relations skills required.
•Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
•Flexibility in work hours in order to meet patient and organization operating needs required.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
