POSITION OVERVIEW
Alterra Property Group is seeking an Acquisitions Summer Analyst to join its Industrial Outdoor Storage (IOS) team. The Acquisitions Intern will support the acquisitions analysts and associates and work collaboratively with the broader Acquisitions, Legal, Development, and Investment Teams. This internship offers hands-on experience in real estate underwriting, due diligence, financial modeling, and asset management across Alterra’s growing industrial portfolio.
This position is ideal for a student or recent graduate passionate about real estate finance and investment, looking to gain meaningful exposure to the deal-making process in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the underwriting and financial modeling of potential acquisitions and developments.
- Support market research and analysis, including tracking economic trends, local market dynamics, and competitive property data.
- Help with deal execution tasks, such as preparing investment memos, analyzing financial statements, and coordinating due diligence materials.
- Work with senior team members to evaluate tenant creditworthiness, property performance, and leasing metrics.
- Maintain and update financial models and internal databases to track active deals and existing asset performance.
- Assist in preparing investor materials, internal reports, and presentations summarizing financial and qualitative findings.
- Collaborate across departments to support closing and onboarding of new acquisitions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field.
- Some prior exposure or coursework in real estate finance or investment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Argus Enterprise or other financial modeling tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrated interest in commercial real estate, investment, and financial analysis.
