Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe ability to motivate, support, and challenge studentsGenuine interest, belief, and care for students’ personal and academic successCommitment to professional growth, self-reflection, receptiveness to feedback, practice, and a desire to continuously improveA positive, growth mindset and a drive for personal excellenceA strong sense of professional responsibility as well as personal accountability for student achievementSolutions-oriented resiliency to respond positively and effectively to challengesOutstanding instructional skills driven by data and delivered through rigorous and engaging strategiesEssential Functions:Work closely with school leaders to analyze student assessment data to measure progress and use data to inform instructionAdapts classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans and building academic English and content knowledgeAdministers tests and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating student language abilityAssesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, PA Proficiency Standards, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administrationDemonstrates methods required to perform classroom and/or subject specific assignments for the purpose of providing an effective program that addresses individual student requirementsMonitors students in a variety of educational environments (e.g. classroom, cafeteria, playground, field trips, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environmentSupports classroom teachers for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of established curriculum and/or individual student plansPrepares a variety of written materials and correspondence (e.g. grades, progress reports, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of documenting student progress and meeting mandated requirementsRequirementsBachelor’s degree required with a record of personal, professional, and/or academic achievementAppropriate Teacher CertificationCommitment to and experience working with underserved communitiesDetermination to drive student achievement and set high expectations for all studentsMust hold a valid PA teacher license in K-12 ESLSelf-guided and decisive educators who exhibit cultural awareness and creativityMust be able to pass all required background checks.
