Responsibilities
BDC Advisors is growing and looking to hire dynamic resources to join our healthcare strategy practice as Consultants, Senior Consultants and/or Managers, based on candidates’ experience. These positions all play important roles in our project teams, with individuals typically working on multiple projects at one time. Each project team is generally comprised of 3-6 members and includes considerable collaboration with firm leadership including Principals, Directors and Managing Directors. BDC consultants at all levels routinely gain exposure to senior client executives at leading health systems and academic medical centers in the country.
BDC Healthcare Strategy Consultants are expected to:
- Define the client’s problem including critical issues and their causes
- Develop and structure analytical approaches to provide actionable client insights
- Manage complex data sets and perform quantitative analysis
- Own and set standards for design and development of firm financial models
- Perform advanced primary and secondary research
- Create client communications including recommendations / synthesis of insights from analysis
- Develop meaningful client relationships and communicate findings to all levels of management
- Guide the day-to-day work and development of junior team members
Qualifications
Required
- 1-4+ years of experience (title, compensation, responsibility commensurate to experience)
- MBA, MHA, MPH or other master’s degree in appropriate discipline
- Strong interest in healthcare provider and health insurance segments
- Drive to find creative solutions to complex problems
- Advanced expertise in quantitative analysis and financial modeling
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated success in analytical problem solving
- Ability and desire to work as part of a team, collaborate with others, and learn new topic areas quickly
- Willingness to travel 60-80% of the time (note: travel is currently suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Preferred
- Experience with, or interest in, governmental (MA, MSSP and Medicaid) and commercial payers including contracting language, modeling, process improvement, digital and reporting
- Experience leading teams in analytical roles: management consulting, investment banking / private equity, finance, or equivalent experience
