Beacon Light Behavioral Health System is looking for a Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) who is responsible for providing therapeutic support to the child or adolescent in specified areas of social, behavioral and emotional concern and needs that have been identified by the child/youth and family and addressed in the treatment plan. To provide support to the child that facilitates the growth and development of the child and the development of therapeutic support skills in the parents, family members, educators and others to ensure that such support is maintained for the child as professional interventions are decreased and terminated. Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Services (BHRS) is a one-on-one program designed to transfer therapeutic skills to our clients, their families, teachers, and other caregivers. Common behaviors the BHRS program addresses include oppositional defiance, coping skills, difficult family interactions, and attention-deficit. Unique to the program is how it “wraps around” the client’s needs, allowing for services to take place where and when it is most beneficial for the client..
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires an active driver’s license and a DMV check that is clear. Position may require travel in the communities served or state of Pennsylvania for position requirements 25-50% of the time. Travel to assist with individuals attending required appointments or visits as needed 5-10% of the time.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associates Degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited university and 3 years paid experience with children or teens. OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field. OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of paid experience with children or teens.
