Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Business Development Intern will support the sales and business development team initiatives by conducting analysis and research, while aiding in outreach to prospective partners. Our business development team is building partnerships that directly drive revenue growth and diversification of customer acquisition channels for the business. We are building relationships in the real estate agent world and making Block the go-to partner for brokers and their clients when they are buying / selling homes. As a business development intern you will be assisting in identifying targets, building outreach strategies and working directly with the sales and BD leadership to construct and execute these partnerships with the goal of creating a flywheel sources of new demand. You have empathy for both homeowners and builders, both of which are critical for the company’s success.Key day-to-day responsibilities include: Assist in building Block’s presence among B2B community via research, cold calling, email, and website outreachUnderstand and communicate the Block value prop to prospective partnersUtilize CRM (HubSpot) and other potential external tools to build prospect lists and properly track your outreach and conversations Work closely with leadership to execute partner growth communication strategiesEvaluate potential partnership opportunities based on market dynamics, expected profitability, and strategic valueQualificationsA current college student or recent graduate looking to gain valuable sales / BD experience in a rapidly growing startup environmentNo task is too small attitude and willingness to take any project onStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to execute in a fast-paced, scrappy team environment with extraordinary attention to detail and follow-throughComfortable working in Microsoft Office Suite and Google SuiteExcel experience is a plusHighly ambitious and goal-orientedDemonstrates Company Philosophies in how they workAble to build for long term, but also able to find efficient short-term solutionsCompany PhilosophiesForce simplicity.Problems are our fuel.
