The Camden Dream CDF Freedom Schools® is a 6-week integrated reading summer program that focuses on serving underserved youth in Camden’s low-income areas to develop a capacity and love for reading, encourage positive attitudes toward learning and improve parental engagement through:1) high quality academic enrichment;2) parent/family involvement;3) social action and civic engagement; education assures the successful4) intergenerational servant leadership;5) nutrition, health and mental health.As an instructor, you will lead 10 students through a STEM+Literacy+Soft Skills curriculum and have a role in designing instruction specific to your classroom. Great experience for an early career teacher. Our 2021 program will be virtual using the Cisco WebEx platform. Instructors will be required to visit the Camden Dream Center to pick up materials approximately 3 times during the program.At the Camden Dream CDF Freedom School, we leverage our STEM learning and soft skills development to engage the children in problem solving and creative thinking projects in IoT, robotics, botany, math, art, etc. There is a strong focus on developing literacy skills in all children, inside and outside of the classroom. Our purpose is to promote pervasive STEM awareness, education, and career pathways, while simultaneously improving the food insecurity and quality of life for underserved communities.
