Community Art Facilitator – San Francisco
Reports to: Program Director
Status: Part-time, non-exempt; $20 per hour
Hours: 3-10 hours per week; afternoons and occasional weekends
DrawBridge is seeking passionate and creative facilitators to lead expressive arts programs for children experiencing housing insecurity. We provide training, program support, professional development opportunities, and all necessary art supplies.
For over 35 years, DrawBridge has offered free expressive arts programs in shelters, affordable housing facilities, and community centers across seven Bay Area counties. Our programs foster creativity, connection, and emotional well-being for children ages five and up.
Current Openings – San Francisco & Marin
We are hiring facilitators for the following sites in San Francisco (open to applicants for one or multiple sites):
- Mission District (Zip code 94110) – Once weekly, 5-6 PM (weekday TBD)
- Tenderloin (Zip code 94102) – Once weekly, 4-5 PM or 5-6 PM (weekday TBD)
- SoMa (Zip code 94103) – Every Tuesday, 4-5 PM
Marin Position: Marin County Libraries
- 1st Tuesdays (Monthly): Fairfax Library, 3:30–4:30 PM
- 2nd Tuesdays (Monthly): Point Reyes Library, 3:00–4:00 PM
- 3rd Thursdays (Monthly): Corte Madera Library, 3:30–4:30 PM
Job Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging, child-centered expressive art experiences at assigned sites.
- Coordinate with the Program Manager to implement creative activities tailored to the needs of each group.
- Set up and break down program spaces, maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Track attendance, submit supply inventories, and complete program reports.
- Ensure children and families feel welcome, supported, and encouraged in their creative expression.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development workshops.
- Follow DrawBridge’s safety and workplace policies, including COVID-19 protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience working with children, families, and diverse communities.
- Background in art, education, child development, psychology, or social work preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel to program sites and commit to a consistent schedule.
- Familiarity with email, Zoom, and online communication tools.
- Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, or Arabic is a plus!
- Candidates must pass a background check and provide proof of TB test and COVID-19 vaccination.
