We are looking for a Senior Project Manager that will manage all aspects of the office from employees to projects, and clients to ensure that all tasks are safely completed on time and within scope and budget. You must have experience with Environmental Consulting. We will only be moving forward with candidates that are Senior Geologists, Senior Scientists, Senior Environmental Engineers, and Senior Environmental Project Managers.
As the Senior Project Manager, you are responsible for making sure you and your team are completing projects as per their contracted scope, monitoring progress and performance against the project plan. You will troubleshoot and recommend or resolve operational problems and minimize delays. The team will be responsible for resource management, project scheduling, budgets, and forecasts, and working with external vendors, subcontractors, or contractors.
You will be driving goals and business growth by:
- Maintaining and building new client relationships, We are looking for someone that is professionally integrated with the Environmental Consulting industry in Austin.
- Sourcing and bringing in new clients and new projects.
- Manage all aspects of a large scale and complex projects.
- You will need to meet project priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
- You will communicate with the clients and deliver work products to satisfaction of client.
- Prepare designs and work specifications; develop schedules, budgets, and forecasts; select materials, equipment, project staff, and contractors.
- Monitor activities, allocate resources, and assign tasks to ensure targets are met.
- Estimate costs, resources, and time required to complete. Prepares forecasts for expenditures and manages scope, schedule to meet budget.
- Partner with other offices to secure specialized resources for the project.
- Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
- Coach and mentor project staff and assist them to solve problems.
- Coordinates with accounting for financial management of business intelligence, invoicing and collections.
- Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies.
- Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
- Perfom routine Site Visits and Site evaluations
- Resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
- Identify, develop, and gather necessary resources for the office and team.
- Manage and mentor staff.
- Work with HR to fill needed positions.
Required Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, related environmental/engineering field, or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Abilities
- A minimum of 8 years of managing projects and engaging people on a senior level.
- You will need to have a diverse background Environmental Consulting and Remediation; environmental site assessment, remediation, risk assessment, field sampling (soils, groundwater, and surface water), Phase I ESAs, and Phase II LSIs.
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with co-workers, clients and subcontractors.
- Ability to meet deadlines, both internally and externally.
- Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities.
- Independently problem solve and work autonomously with a sense of urgency
- Exceptional writing, grammatical and verbal communication skills.
- Required knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages (Microsoft Office and Adobe).
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint preferred.
