Element Biosciences is a multi-disciplinary startup focused on innovating genetic analysis tools for the research and clinical markets. The Company’s technology will broaden the end user experience through improved data quality and simplified workflows to benefit discoveries and diagnosis in healthcare.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join the Element Engineering Team for the summer. You will be electrical, or electro-mechanical minded, self-starter and able to create, revise, and execute test plans to verify system performance for a variety of subsystems. It will also be necessary to troubleshoot open-ended problems where cooperation with various team members will guide the investigation and help gain knowledge of multiple disciplines is required.
You will have great fundamentals in electrical engineering, and has already completed, or are about to complete, their Junior or Senior year of college. If you want to learn about real-world development problems and how they are overcome, we want you on our team! Apply your knowledge and put into practice with additional tasks that may include execution of design changes in SolidWorks, followed by prototyping, testing, and ECO, as well as BOM management and test stand development. Additional task may include, cable design, cable creation, BOM management, and test execution. Basic knowledge of programming (such as C++ or Python) is highly preferred.
What you will achieve
By the end of the internship, you will have gained knowledge in multiple disciplines, will better understand the product development lifecycle, and will have a more wholistic understanding of integration activities required to make a commercial product.
Electrical Engineering Activities:
· Cable creation, revisioning, and execution of engineering drawings
· Hands-on Electrical troubleshooting in open-ended environment
· PCBA design and documentation revision
· Electrical component BOM management
· Basic programming and control optimization of test fixtures, other duties as assigned.
9am-5pm to align with on-site activity and on-site engineering coverage – flexible depending on your availabiity.
