Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health Services, the Coordinator of Psychotherapy Services provides direct clinical services; oversees and manages the intake, case disposition and assignment processes; provides clinical and administrative supervision to staff therapists.
Representative Duties:
- Provides direct mental health and addiction counseling to clients
- Provides intake / diagnostic evaluations for new clients, using established therapeutic processes
- Provides substance use disorder assessment and enrollment for appropriate clients, using established therapeutic processes
- Provides short-term therapy to BH clients, using established therapeutic processes
- Provides long-term therapy to BH clients, using established therapeutic processes
- Provides couple/family therapy to BH clients, using established therapeutic processes
- Provides group therapy to BH clients, using established therapeutic processes
- Provides crisis intervention, using established therapeutic processes
- Provides on-call / crisis service coverage as required, and according to department standards
- Adheres to NASW Code of Ethics
2. Oversees the client intake / diagnostic assessment, and disposition and case assignment processes of the behavioral health department
- Facilitates intake/case disposition meetings
- Oversees the waitlist processes for psychotherapy services
- Assigns cases to staff therapists
- Monitors insurance coverage, managed care requirements and providers’ licensure to ensure that appropriate case assignment are made and maintained
- Assures staff compliance with adhering to the department’s policies and procedures that pertain to intake / diagnostic assessments, including but not limited to the timely completion of assessments, disposition notes and multidisciplinary team reviews
- Assists the associate director with tracking providers’ caseloads according to established acuity mix and caseload volume standard
- Makes process improvement recommendations
3. Participates in activities designed to maintain and enhance the functions of the behavioral health department’s programs and services
- Participates in department management team meetings
- Participates in health center quality teams when assigned
- Acts as a liaison between the behavioral health department, the medical department, and other agency departments as needed
- Participates in other health center initiative and committees as assigned
4. Provide training and supervision to assigned staff following FCHC policies and procedures
- Insures that assigned staff receive a comprehensive program orientation
- Trains assigned staff regarding the full range of their responsibilities
- Provides ongoing guidance and supervision to assigned staff
- Provides yearly written evaluations of assigned staff following agency evaluation guidelines
- In collaboration with the associate director of outpatient services makes employment-related decisions regarding assigned staff within the scope of defined authority and following established agency and program guidelines
- Supports and continually improves the provision of professional, comprehensive, and effective clinical services for all BH clients
5. Meets Agency’s Participatory Expectations
- Suggests and participates in continuing quality improvement efforts
- Adheres to all agency and departmental policies and procedures
- Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities as requested
- Adheres to the highest principles of patient and client confidentiality
- Adheres to established safety policies, procedures and precautions; identifies potential or actual unsafe situations in the environment and takes measures to rectify the situation
- Attends all required meetings, in-services and professional trainings
- Attends all regularly scheduled research meetings, trainings, forums and pertinent FCH staff meetings
- Maintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintains and provides agency with records of continuing education activities
- Serves on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested

Requirements
- Graduate level degree in mental health
- Independent licensure required
- Minimum of 3 years post independent licensure experience in providing direct client care required
- Minimum of 1 years clinical and administrative supervisory experience preferred
- Proficiency in providing brief / short-term treatment
- Knowledge of evidence based treatment modalities, and appreciation of their effectiveness
- Ability to complete documentation accurately and on time and to maintain current client care documentation
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with ethnically, culturally, racially and gender diverse clients
- Demonstrated understanding of the intersectional impacts of racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, classism, and other forms of oppression
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to be an effective team member
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to multitask
- Experience with, or a willingness to learn Excel
- Lived and/or professional experience with BIPOC individuals, LGBTQIA+ issues, HIV, and trauma strongly preferred
