General Summary
Hanover is looking for a highly motivated individual to fill a Development Analyst position that will be responsible for supporting the execution of the Company’s development platform, preparing appropriate documents to facilitate the underwriting and closing of multifamily and industrial real estate transactions, interfacing with the Company’s development leadership, and tracking and reporting on the status of transactions. This position is located in the Bethesda, MD office.
Responsibilities Include
- Conducts financial analysis and performs underwriting of multifamily and industrial development opportunities. Gathers, compiles, investigates, and analyzes market data to identify potential development opportunities, and prepares narrative development memoranda, detailed reports, and market summaries that provide insights on proposed acquisitions.
- Works closely with the Industrial and Multifamily Development Partners and Capital Markets team in evaluating new development opportunities in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions.
- Monitors and reports on the status and progress of proposed development transactions within the assigned geographic region, establishes critical timelines and deadlines for tasks and activities related to the proposed transaction.
- Completes various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.
Training Requirement: This position will be based in our Bethesda, MD office. However, the selected candidate will be required to train at our corporate headquarters in Houston, TX for the first 1-2 months. Travel arrangements will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- At least 1 year of related experience or relevant coursework preferred
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Possess strong quantitative, analytical and creative thinking skills
- Possess strong problem solving skills with an ability to take initiative and think independently
- Must be well organized and able to multi-task with limited supervision while adhering to deadlines and maintaining accuracy
- Must demonstrate high level of energy and commitment to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment
- Ability to discern relevant material from large volumes of data
