Position DescriptionAs the Reference/Technology Librarian, you’ll support our mission and vision by not only providing top-notch reference services to our community, but also lead the library in exploring, evaluating, and adopting emergent technology products and solutions which can improve customers’ experience, and optimize use of library resources. The Reference/Technology Librarian will assist in providing reference and technology services for all library customers and staff with a concentration on adult services. This includes resources, programs, and services to meet the needs of the adult population in accordance with Haverford Township Free Library’s (HTFL) mission, vision, strategic plan, goals, and objectives. This individual is also responsible for implementing, overseeing, maintaining and evaluating all technology and computer-based activities for the Library. This includes, but is not limited to internal/external informational technology (IT), computers, printers, e-readers, Rokus, hotspots, other related technologies and website content and hosting. For more information, please see the detailed Job Description on our website www.haverfordlibrary.org/jobs QualificationsMLIS (Masters in Library & Information Science) from ALA accredited school; Experience in library management including collection development and all aspects of a busy reference department; Comprehensive experience with computers and emerging technologies with the ability to translate the language of information technology to non-expert users; Exceptional expertise in all areas of electronic and digital materials with the ability to adapt to new developments in the digital world with ease; Ability to think creatively and find solutions outside the box with given projects; Solid understanding of integrated library systems (ILS), computing, mobile technology, and basic hardware and software for initial troubleshooting; Ability to assume multiple responsibilities with competence and technology problems with patience and perseverance without sacrificing attention to detail.Salary/BenefitsSalary range for this full-time position is $36,000 – $40,000, depending upon qualifications and experience.
