Title: Capacity Building InternReports to: Intern Coordinator and Capacity Building ManagerDescription:HealthHIV’s Capacity Building Team works to enhance the ability of both clinical (primary care clinics, STD clinics, community health centers, hospitals) and non-clinical (AIDS service organizations, health departments, other nonprofits) organizations to improve patient outcomes. HealthHIV organizes regional trainings and provides individualized, on-site technical assistance and collects, analyzes, and distributes research on a variety of topics, including barriers to care, best practices for medical providers, and partnerships for non-clinical and clinical organizations. Since the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, the need for comprehensive training and assistance is greater than ever for health departments, clinics, and patients. Responsibilities may include:Preparing presentations and planning for trainingsDesigning surveys to assess the needs of community-based organizations and healthcare providersGathering data and reporting on findingsDeveloping content for informational pamphletsAttending conferences and meetingsParticipating on webinars and calls with governmental, academic, and nonprofit agenciesDesired Qualifications:A strong interest in health care, health policy, or public healthExcellent writing skills and research capabilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPointAbility to think creatively and work well in groupsStrong organizational skillsAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyWillingness and ability to work autonomously, with direction and supportHow to Apply:Send application materials by email to internships at healthhiv.org with “Capacity Building Intern” as the subject.
