Job Summary:
Under consultation with the team leader, the Senior Therapist is responsible for assessing client needs in areas of service planning, group process, and direct services to consumers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a caseload consistent with regulations
- Conducts comprehensive assessments of patient needs
- Based on assessment, develops a treatment plan reflective of these needs and identified strengths
- Initiates consultation with other professionals as needed regarding consumer assessment and treatment plan
- Ongoing assessment of service needs and modification of treatment plan to reflect these changing needs
- Provides patient with linkages to other supportive services as identified in the assessment
- Maintains patient records and ensures documentation consistent with regulatory agencies, UR/QA, and payers
- Provides crisis intervention and management to consumers
- Maintains working relationships with referral agencies and supportive services to enable comprehensive service provision to consumers
- Assumes responsibility for clinical management in the absence of Program Director and accesses additional supports as necessary
- Assists the Program Director in the clinical and operational advisement of the team.
- Performs other duties as defined by the Program Director
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of direct care clinical experience providing psychotherapy/counseling services to individuals, families, and groups or combination of 6 years direct care experience and supervisory experience overseeing direct care clinical staff; license/credential in his/her professional discipline
- Demonstrated ability to manage caseload independently while utilizing a team approach to client care
- Experience working within the community behavioral health model with desire to grow independent practice suiting niche interests
- Experience and comfort assessing mental health and substance use
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Demonstrated high levels of engagement with client populations and coworkers
- Interest in and demonstrated commitment to continued education and professional growth
- Flexible, non-reactive, and adaptable presence
- Ability to manage schedule, time, caseload, crises, self-care
- Ability to verbalize personal treatment model and approach
Education:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field and license required (CASAC, LMSW, LMHC, LCSW)
Location:
55 Dodge, Getzville, NY
Position Hours:
Monday-Friday; days and evenings with possible Saturdays based on client demand
