Position Overview:
IBEW Local 98 is seeking a highly motivated and analytical intern to support its growing involvement in large-scale infrastructure and energy development initiatives across Southeastern Pennsylvania. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of labor, infrastructure, and regional economic growth, contributing to projects that shape the future energy landscape and workforce needs of the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in analyzing trends in data center growth and the associated power and infrastructure demands
- Support efforts to identify and evaluate opportunities for job creation for skilled electricians
- Conduct research on public-private partnerships (P3s) and regional economic development initiatives
- Coordinate and compile data related to infrastructure and energy projects across the region
- Contribute to strategic planning efforts to anticipate future workforce and energy needs
- Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations to support internal decision-making
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
- Strong interest in public policy, urban planning, energy systems, economics, business, or a related field
- Excellent research, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Skills (not required):
- Familiarity with energy markets, infrastructure planning, or economic development
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools
