Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC) has grown and evolved since our founding in 2002, adapting fearlessly to meet the complex challenges of 21st-century worldview diversity. We have gone from running interfaith youth programs in church, mosque, and synagogue basements to shaping a national narrative about the power and potential of civic religious pluralism while focusing on the society-transforming power of higher education. Year-round Interfaith Leadership Institute (ILI) Program Management
• Partner with ILI Director in developing and overseeing content for the ILI, as it evolves to meet changing network and external conditions.
• Support ILI Director in developing and executing content and programs for year-round ILI programming, including webinars, virtual events.
• Facilitate and grow IFYC’s higher education online communities focused on public universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI), Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Christian universities, in partnership with colleagues.
• Support execution of inaugural student fellows program, including co-leading trainings for student leaders and coordination of virtual events for fellows.
• Develop and facilitate webinars and virtual programs for student and higher education staff and faculty.
ILI Network Management & Institute Support
• Manage ILI recruitment and registration process, including oversight of CVent or other registration system, interaction with registrants, and Salesforce campaigns associated with ILI event, and post ILI survey of participants.
• Support our ILI speakers, panelists and other VIPs with excellent hospitality and thorough logistical information.
• Support ILI Director in miscellaneous administrative aspects of ILI program management as needed, in partnership with ILI assistant.
Outreach and Engagement with U.S. Minority Religious Communities (E.g. – not exhaustive – Bahai, Buddhist, Hindu, Jain, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh communities)
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with religious minority associations, networks and leaders within higher education.
• Pilot collaborative programs, webinars, resources and stories with and from IFYC network.
• Represent IFYC through presentations and attendance at conferences, on campus visits, and at IFYC events related to religious minority outreach and engagement.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated interest in interfaith work
• Three or more years professional experience in non-profit programming or event management
• Proven project management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and engagement with U.S. minority religious communities
• Demonstrated effectiveness in interfacing with multiple constituencies, such as students, campus administrators, faculty, staff, young professionals and/or non-profit partners.
• Strong competence in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); willing to learn and utilize organization-wide constituent relationship management software and IFYC event software
• Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications (but not required):
• High level of religious literacy and fluency in diversity, pluralism, and inclusion
• Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders in substantive discussions about religious and worldview diversity, interfaith cooperation, racial equity, and civic pluralism
• Experience developing and implementing strategies to identify and define complex equity and inclusion issues
• Passionate commitment to IFYC’s mission of making interfaith cooperation the norm in America
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Professional communication skills including writing and presentation
• Adaptable and able to move across projects and programs and adjust priorities as needed, work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
• Collaborative work style; flexibility and agility in problem-solving
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Compensation and Benefits: $55,000 – $65,000 plus free medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance for employee-only coverage. Those who wish to cover their dependents can contribute through payroll for dependent health coverage. Generous time off policies that include paid time off, floating holidays, fixed holidays, sick leave and paid parental leave.
Location: All US-based locations (remote) until our office reopens in 2021, then this position will be based in Chicago, IL
Travel: When our organizations resumes travel likely sometime in 2021, approximately 20% of work time will be traveling to colleges/universities, and conferences across the country (average throughout year; may be more during peak academic and conference seasons); can expect to work occasional nights and weekends
