Company description
Liber Management is an investment firm that utilizes the search fund model to find, acquire, and operate a lower middle or middle-market business. Founded in 2024, the company is managed by Julia Gareeva and Shalabh Gupta. They both are MBA graduates of Harvard Business School and they met while working at EY – Strategy & Transactions in Boston. Julia and Shalabh have 20+ years of combined experience in corporate finance, technology firms and non-profits.

Role description
As an intern, you’ll be immersed in a high-energy, entrepreneurial environment where your contributions will shape our success. Our comprehensive training program offers hands-on experience in:
- Deal origination
- Investment and industry thesis development
- Advanced valuation techniques (DCF, comparable company transactions, LBO, etc.)
Excellence will be rewarded with additional training in negotiation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Investment thesis development: Dive deep into industries, uncovering lucrative investment opportunities through thorough research and analysis
- Deal sourcing: Identify and pursue potential opportunities, crafting compelling outreach communications to engage prospects
- Valuations: Perform in-depth valuation analyses using methodologies like DCF, comparable companies, benchmark transactions, and LBO
- Transaction execution: Conduct meticulous due diligence on acquisition prospects and assist in creating impactful communication materials
What the internship offers
This internship is your gateway to mastering skills that will propel you into full-time roles in search funds, investment banking, private equity, or entrepreneurship. While positions are unpaid, you’ll gain invaluable experience through extensive training in industry analysis, deal sourcing, finance, accounting, and modelling. Additionally, you’ll receive personalized letters of recommendation and access to our extensive professional network across consulting, banking, and private equity.
Logistics
- Location: 100% remote, with optional in-person meetings for those based in Dallas
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week)
- Dates: June through August (3 months)
