Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute, is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Research Technologist within the Immunology group. This position is designed as an entry level position that will build practical knowledge of immunology. The position will support the development and validation of immunological assays (ELISA, flow cytometry, ADA, cytokine, etc.) along with sample analysis.
The job will involve working in multi-disciplinary scientific teams to develop/characterize/validate immunological assays to support drug development. Key skill sets will include quantitative analysis experience, sample analysis procedures, quantitative data analysis and compliance with GxP regulations.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Immunology or a related scientific discipline or with comparable course work and 1-3 years of directly-related research experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
Candidate must have a demonstrated understanding of research methodology, principles and procedures. Must have the ability to successfully perform a variety of laboratory procedures using standard laboratory equipment and instruments. Must have the ability to gather, analyze and report data.
Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.
This position may involve work inside the ABSL3 facility which may require vaccinations/immunizations. Candidates must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and wear a respirator. A Post-offer physical and background check are required. Ability to gain and maintain access to Kirtland Air Force base (KAFB) is required.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working in biocontainment and/or a GLP environment.
