The Mann lab at Moffitt Cancer Center is recruiting a full-time Research Associate II (Research Technician) to join our collaborative research team in Molecular Oncology. The Mann lab investigates transcriptional and splicing deregulation driving metastasis using pancreatic cancer as a model. We are looking for an individual excited by inter-disciplinary approaches including ex vivo and in vivo modeling with the goal to identify splicing regulators and splicing events that may be explored for diagnostic or therapeutic efficacy to better treat cancer patients.

Desired Skills:
Mammalian cell culture: propagating cell lines, performing phenotypic assays
Molecular biology: Nucleic acids (nucleic acid isolation, amplification, PCR and qPCR analysis); protein isolation and western blotting; cloning and bacterial propagation
Mouse modeling: Experience handling mice is a plus but not a requirement
Responsibilities:
Documenting work, optimizing laboratory protocols, laboratory compliance
Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
Contribute to grants and manuscripts
