Rockwood Park Preservation Society (RPPS) is a 5013c nonprofit organization whose vision is to create a community sponsored organization that benefits Rockwood Park through fund-raising, recreational and, educational events. RPPS has dedicated volunteer members who work with New Castle County Department of Community Services to promote, preserve, and enhance the educational, historical, architectural, and natural resources of Rockwood Park and Museum.
RPPS is looking for an intern to help promote RPPS’s vision and help with raising awareness and membership levels. This is an exciting hands-on opportunity for anyone interested in a future career working in a non-profit or government agency, or anyone interested in pursuing a career in marketing or research.
This opportunity will allow the intern to research and collaborate on new event ideas in support of Rockwood Park and take an active role in the preservation and promotion of a local historic site and its surrounding property. This internship is flexible and provides the intern with the opportunity to grow in varying capacities. It is an open-ended position and RPPS is willing to work with the student’s schedule.
Strong verbal communication required.
The position is on-site and has a flexible schedule. Some weekend work may be required.
Students serving with New Castle County Department of Community Services will have the opportunity to: Interface and network with the general public and a wide variety of public agencies and community organizations; participate in a variety of special events and activities for all ages; collect data and analyze program success.
