We are currently seeking a Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Salem, Oregon!
YOUR ROLE AT NWHS
As one of our highly qualified Mental Health Counselors, you will provide trauma-informed, compassionate, and professional mental health counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups across a broad range of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. You will assess the nature and extent of Mental Health challenges and Co-Occurring Disorders, and formulate a plan for service that addresses each individual’s needs.
This position is full time, 1.0 FTE 40 hours per week. The location for the position will be split between our West Salem Mental Health Clinic (0.8 FTE, 4 days per week) and our HOST Program (0.2 FTE, 1 day per week).
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, and/or other degree in a related mental health field with eligibility for QMHP credentialing is required
- Must have graduate course work in theory, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders.
- Must have experience working with persons who have mental health issues and those who are in emotional distress
- Must demonstrate proficiency using DSM IV-TR, DSM V, and ICD-10
- Licensure as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW in the state of Oregon is preferred
- Experience working with youth and youth behavior, including youth experiencing homelessness is preferred
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred
