Social Media Intern

The Social Media Intern will work directly with the Digital Marketing and Promotions Manager to advise and assist with content creation for Pennsylvania Ballet’s major social media platforms, including channels for the School of Pennsylvania Ballet, on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Job responsibilities may include social media research and trend analysis, follower engagement and inter-account boosting activity, archival video and photo research, and various tasks related to the execution and production of new content.
The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and well-informed about social media, particularly Instagram and Twitter, with a finger on the pulse of current online trends. Some knowledge of dance and/or the performing arts is preferred.
This internship is a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about the relationship between social media content creation and digital marketing strategy, as well as the general administration and marketing of a performing arts organization. In addition to reporting to the Digital Marketing and Promotions Manager, the Social Media Intern will work closely with the Head of Marketing, the dancers of Pennsylvania Ballet, and other members of the organization who assist with media creation.
Scheduling can be flexible according to the intern’s school or work demands, but candidates should expect to work up to 20 hours per week within regular work hours.
This is an unpaid internship with stipend to defray expenses. All work will be conducted remotely. The start date for this position is June 1 to August 6.
