Company: Perfect Strangers
Perfect Strangers is looking for summer interns for our Central/HQ team for Summer 2020 to help define and execute overall strategy as well as build our brand and partnership network. As a member of our Communications Team, you’ll be the official voice of Perfect Strangers and will be responsible for drafting communications (press releases, partnership announcements, blog posts) in conjunction with our Public Relations partner teams. Our ideal candidate is one who is passionate about collaboration, the power of communication to build social movements, and Perfect Strangers’ mission. You think strategically about how to communicate Perfect Stranger’s mission to different audiences and are excited by the idea of bringing the Perfect Strangers voice to life through your work. You’re constantly thinking about the magic that lives at the intersection of community and social services and your goal is to help the Perfect Strangers’ community grow and thrive.
This role has a wide variety of responsibilities, and in this startup environment you can expect this role to grow and evolve – sometimes on a daily basis. Be prepared to jump in and be a jack of all trades – no task is too big or too small. This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission forward non-profit organization with a tech driven model and gain exposure to everything it takes to rapidly scale a venture. If you genuinely believe in the transformative power of social services and equalizing access to it for all, Perfect Strangers is for you.
As a fast-moving, start-up nonprofit initiative, Perfect Strangers offers a range of meaningful leadership opportunities for our summer interns. The intern’s long-term summer project will be designed around the intern’s skills and interests. Example projects for this role include:
- Partnership Announcements: Draft copy and quotes for PS partnership announcements by collaborating with HQ and our partner’s PR teams to understand how to communicate the synergies and how our partners enable our work and further the PS mission
- Expansion Press Releases: Draft copy and quotes for Press Releases when PS expands to a new city or region
- Blog Posts + Customer Success Stories: In addition to more formal communications, our communications team will be responsible for building a more friendly, relatable “voice” for Perfect Strangers through informal communications like Blog Posts and Customer Success Highlights
We welcome all people. We celebrate diversity of all kinds and are committed to creating an inclusive culture built on a foundation of respect for all individuals. We seek to hire, develop and retain talented people from all backgrounds. Individuals from non-traditional backgrounds, historically marginalized or underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
