Who you are
This is not urban, cosmopolitan work; you are purposefully seeking a rural setting to be an RN to join the uniquely close knit community of Wrangell, Alaska. You relish the opportunity to make an impact with patients and their families. Excited to coordinate a variety of nursing care procedures for patients of all ages, you want to utilize your professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatment. You are an active participant in patient and family teaching and provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other members of the healthcare team to maintain professional nursing practices in the clinic using guidelines (physician’s orders, standards of care, nursing policies and procedures, manuals, and hospital policies).
You are a Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Associate degree in nursing or Diploma in nursing) . Have a valid, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or able to obtain one. Must have BLS until you are able to obtain ACLS. ACLS & PALS ( within one year of hire and biannually thereafter). Knows nursing principles and practices; able to recognize and act promptly when adverse signs appear; have a knowledge of pharmaceuticals (their effects, side effects, and complications).
