Subtoo – Head of Campus Growth Intern (Philly Tech Startup),
Subtoo is a fast-growing tech startup founded in Philadelphia, building a students-only housing marketplace for verified sublets, lease takeovers, and roommates.
While Subtoo already has early footprints in other markets, this internship is focused on one clear mission: helping us win the Philadelphia college market, starting with Penn, Drexel, Temple, and the broader campus ecosystem.
You will work directly with the founder to develop and execute growth strategies that help Subtoo become the go-to housing platform for students across Philadelphia.
What you’ll own
Campus growth strategy
Help decide how Subtoo wins each Philadelphia campus, including which schools to prioritize, what channels to test, and how to turn student housing pain points into growth.
Penn launch execution
Lead Penn-specific growth experiments across student groups, clubs, housing communities, dorms, social channels, and ambassador-style outreach.
Social and marketing experiments
Develop ideas for TikTok, Instagram, campus-specific content, listing showcases, scam-awareness content, student memes, and other campaigns that get students to pay attention.
Philadelphia expansion playbook
Help build the repeatable launch system Subtoo will use across Penn, Drexel, Temple, and future schools. This includes documenting what works, what does not, and how we scale it.
Student feedback and product insight
Talk to students, understand where they currently find housing, identify trust gaps, and bring that feedback directly into product and marketing decisions.
Who you are
You are a Penn student who understands campus culture, student housing pain points, and what actually gets attention online. You may be studying marketing, communications, business, design, or something completely different. We care more about instincts, creativity, and execution than your major.
You are likely already familiar with student housing groups, campus trends, TikTok, Instagram, group chats, and the way students actually make decisions.
