Visual Arts Writer – Part-Time (Unpaid to Start)
Position Overview:
The Art Newsletter is seeking a Visual Arts Writer with a passion for sharing insights on exhibitions, artist profiles, and the latest trends in the visual arts world. This part-time position is unpaid initially but offers growth potential as the publication expands and the intern shows promising work.
Responsibilities:
- Research, write, and edit articles on visual arts topics, including exhibitions, artist profiles, and trends.
- Conduct interviews with artists, gallery owners, and other professionals in the industry.
- Collaborate with the editorial team to refine content in line with The Art Newsletter’s voice and style.
- Attend a weekly Team Meeting on Wednesdays.
Essential Skills:
- Strong understanding of visual arts, including vast knowledge of modern and contemporary art.
- Ability to write clear, engaging, and analytical content.
- Excellent communication skills, especially for conducting interviews and building industry relationships.
- Attention to detail in research and fact-checking.
Qualifications:
- Major in Art History, Fine Arts, Visual Culture, Journalism or a related field.
- Proven writing and editing abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet weekly deadlines.
