The Bowery Mission is a holistic, Christian faith-based organization dedicated to serving people experiencing homelessness by providing compassionate care and life transformation services.
The Residential Intern position is a rewarding opportunity to receive in-depth, hands-on experience serving women from diverse backgrounds who are in recovery from crises of many kinds, including homelessness, addiction, and trauma.
Residential Interns are a part of the Community Life team, engaging with residents, staff, and volunteers in a wide variety of roles and responsibilities.
Responsibilities include the following: encouraging and mentoring women in daily activities, case management and scheduling, coordinating visitors and volunteers, and helping to create a trauma-informed environment of safety, dignity, and care.
The Residential Intern is a one-year, full-time paid internship experience, which includes a monthly stipend, onsite housing for the duration of the internship and meals. This position will work Sunday – Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with the understanding of certain schedule flexibility as coverage is needed. Days off are Friday and Saturday.
A great opportunity for undergrad or graduate students, this role is not specifically associated with a graduate or field education program.
