ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Work closely with the Population Health + Wellness team to assist in creating strategic plans and deliverables for MJ clientele
- Collaborate with internal teams on new ideas, direction and methods to enhance wellness efforts
- Assist with content creation for wellness centered communications and templates, such as newsletters, challenge templates, etc.
- Assist with coordination and scheduling of client wellness events, such as health fairs, lunch & learns, biometric screening events and flu shot clinics
- Conduct wellness vendor research and development of database
- Collaborate with wellness vendors to review product capabilities
- Assist with the development of internal wellness content such as proposal templates, etc.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES/ON THE JOB TRAINING
Over the course of this internship, the Population Health + Wellness Intern will gain valuable insight and training into how a Population Health + Wellness department functions within a consulting firm. More specifically, the intern will:
- Gain on the job experience with unique Population Health and Wellness Strategies
- Assist in developing new processes to streamline the effectiveness of client deliverables
- Gain insight into the insurance industry and Population Health and Wellness best practices
- Develop an understanding of how a consulting firm works and how value-added services feed into the overall strategy of the department and organization
- Learn how Population Health + Wellness initiatives, data, strategies and interventions can lead to cost containment and risk mitigation within an organization
- Develop vendor relationship skills and knowledge of gathering proposal data
TECHNICAL FUNCTIONS
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
- Recently completed or working toward a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field of study (e.g., Public Health, Exercise & Wellness, Health Promotion, Nutrition, etc.)
