Overview: MOD provides business management, administrative, and policy support to more than 2,000 ITA employees worldwide. Our multipurpose, fast-paced office offers a wide variety of management experiences for prospective management professionals.MOD strives to excel in providing management, organization and procedural analysis; administering ITA management improvement and customer service programs; overseeing ITA’s management control responsibilities; performing committee, directives, records, correspondence, and reports management functions for ITA; administering the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Privacy Act of 1974; providing, acquiring and assuring the availability, quality, and cost-effectiveness of administrative services including facilities, procurement and travel; maintaining a funding and payment mechanism for services; and providing liaison with Department of Commerce (DOC) counterpart offices for management, evaluation and business management support services.This position will provide individuals with a great opportunity to participate in numerous high exposure projects and training opportunities while working in a fast-paced public-sector environment with a global outreach. If applicable, ITA will also offer the opportunity to adjust the position duties and responsibilities to ensure that the intern meets all standards to receive academic credit. Position Scope: Primarily, MOD intern responsibilities will consist of researching, data collection, analyzing, and assessing the effectiveness of management controls, policies, and practices to identify areas where increased management attention is needed and ensure that management and staff stay abreast of pertinent management analysis, service, and other policy and controls. ITA is seeking interns who are looking to build skills in: • Research • Networking • Report generation• Data collection and analysis • Written and oral communication • Team leadership and collaboration Major Duties and Responsibilities: Among other things, interns will: • Research, compile, and present best practices • Develop PowerPoint presentations and provide briefings • Analyze employee/organizational efficiency and productivity • Develop and review reports and other documents for grammatical correctness and verifying discrepancies with the appropriate office or individuals • Assist in developing and reviewing administrative program policies, regulations, goals, or objectives • Identify and analyze data required for use in the management and direction of programs At the conclusion of the internship program, interns will present a portfolio of completed deliverables and lessons learned to ITA leadership.
