Pre-Med Planning FAQs for Transfer Students

The two most common questions we receive from transfer students planning to pursue medical school are as follows:

Q: Not all of the pre-med courses I took at my previous school transferred to Penn for credit.  Do I need to take these classes again?

  • A: When you apply to medical school you will send transcripts from both schools.  If the courses at your previous school fulfilled requirements, they will still do so.

Q: I was involved in a lot of a pre-medical activities at my previous school.  How do I get started at Penn?
