Most applicants to medical school spend their summers exploring their academic, clinical, and extracurricular interests in depth. Students commonly engage in research, clinical and non-clinical service, study abroad, and industry internships–in industries related to healthcare or not. There is no ideal or preferred summer experience. You should pursue activities that enrich and further your professional and personal development.
