Welcome to Penn! Penn Career Services is so excited to welcome you this semester and to be part of your journey as you begin your academic and professional exploration.

Our office is here to support you throughout your time at Penn—whether you’re just starting to think about career paths, looking ahead to internships or research opportunities, or just need some general career conversation! We’re here when you need us—not the other way around—and we encourage you to take advantage of our resources whenever the time feels right for you.

Here’s a quick overview of how we can help:

  • Career Counseling: You can schedule an individual 1:1 appointment with our team of advisors to discuss everything from resume feedback and interview preparation to figuring out what careers might interest you.
  • Workshops and Events: We offer sessions on resume building, networking, applying to internships, and much more. Many are geared specifically toward first- and second-year students, so don’t feel like you must wait to start learning.
  • Job and Internship Listings: One of the most important first steps you can take is to activate and complete your profile on Handshake, Penn’s career platform. Handshake is your hub for accessing thousands of job and internship listings, especially those targeted to Penn Engineering students. It’s also where you’ll schedule appointments with our team, register for employer events and workshops, and sign up for career fairs throughout the year. The sooner you explore Handshake, the sooner you’ll be able to take advantage of all that’s available.
