We are offering two versions of the Design Career Fair this year:

  • In-person, Friday, February 24th
  • Virtual, Tuesday, February 28th

*If you are interested in participating in the in-person Design Career Fair, please follow this link: https://app.joinhandshake.com/edu/career_fairs/37010

This is the registration page for the virtual spring career fair.  The annual spring virtual career fair is open to employers interested in connecting with over 400 Design graduate students representing the architecture, landscape architecture, city and regional planning, historic preservation, real estate, spatial analytics, and fine arts programs. The virtual fair is an excellent way for firms and organizations to make their work known and recruit for available full- and part-time positions, as well as summer internship opportunities.

The following industries and career fields are welcome to attend the fair:

  • Architecture
  • City and Urban Planning
  • Historic Preservation
  • Fine Arts
  • Integrated Product Design
  • Environmental Building Design
  • Urban and Spatial Analytics

Participate in the career fair to enjoy these featured advantages:

  • ACCESS TOP TALENT: Penn students are driven and engaged, and bring with them strong skills applicable to careers in design and planning fields.
  • ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN A PRESENCE AT PENN: Build a recruiting pipeline for future design candidates even if you currently don’t have opportunities
  • ACCESS RESUME BOOKS for students interested in internships and full-time positions. We will create resume books for this year’s event, broken down by degree and whether students are seeking internships or full-time opportunities. Employers will receive a link to resumes from students registered for this career fair one week prior to the event. Employers may reach out and connect with students that they are particularly interested in talking to, and arrange to meet before the career fair day or after the fair.
  • ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEWS: Please indicate during the registration process whether you would be interested in taking advantage of complimentary space in our on-campus interviewing suite to interview students on another day either before or after the career fair date.

Penn’s students are eager to make a connection with employers interested in their wide range of technical and transferable skills. Take this opportunity to participate in this event, and you can be confident that you will find the high caliber of students that you are seeking.

What is the format?

We are excited to be offering both in-person and virtual versions of the Design Career Fair this year. For this virtual event, employers will be able to use the Handshake platform to schedule 1:1 and groups sessions with students. For more information on the Handshake virtual career fair experiences, please see: https://support.joinhandshake.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049971954-Virtual-Fairs-in-Handshake-A-Guide-…

Please note that employers can use their own platforms (e.g. Zoom, Webex, etc. for 1:1 or group session held during the career fair.

The 1:1 sessions with students during the career fair are 10-minutes long. If you are looking for longer sessions with multiple representatives meeting with individual students, then you can select your desire to build interview schedules in partnership with the Employer Relations Team at Career Services during the registration process. The schedules can be set up the day before the fair and the week after the career fair. You can use the resume book to select students to meet with.

Employers with specific job opportunities can identify these during the registration process by uploading positions to Handshake, and then easily linking to these during the registration process.

Registration Fees and Deadlines

The standard registration fee for this fair is $100 per organization (we offer $75 for nonprofit/government organizations and Penn affiliates) which will be payable by credit card or check.

We encourage employers to register by February 3rd as this will allow you ample time to set preferences on your 1:1 meetings and efficiently use the virtual interaction time.  To receive a full refund, employers must cancel before Friday, February 24th
