CleanEarth4Kids is a non-profit dedicated to protecting clean air, clean water, public lands, wildlife and children’s health through education, activities, projects, contests, and collaboration. We are advocates for racial, social, climate and environmental justice.
We have unpaid, flexible, remote intern opportunities for law school students who will be directly supervised and able to receive community service hours and/or academic credit.
The intern will assist in creating local, city, state, national and global marketing strategies, roadmaps, goals by designing, refining, evaluating and Or creating materials, including materials on our website, social media,videoclips, flyers, posters, presentations, etc.
The intern will advertise and brainstorm effective ways to promote successes, events, meetings, projects, curriculum, fundraising, contests and challenges which are held online, at multiple schools in schools and cities across the globe.
CleanEarth4Kids.org is currently working on many projects and initiatives like:
- Stopping an industrial chemical storage project in Oceanside, CA
- Passing ordinances to end sales of all flavored smoking products, including cannabis, e-cigarettes and menthol in San Diego County
- Supporting legislation like California AB 2146 to stop all non-agricultural use (lawns, gardens, golf courses, etc.) of neonicotinoids
- Setting policy to end the use of toxic pesticides on all public lands in San Diego County
- Stopping the use of pesticides near homes in Oceanside, CA by West Coast Tomato Growers
- Providing feedback to agencies like California Air Resource Board (CARB), California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR), California Office of Environmental Hazards Assessment (OEHHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Food & Drug Administration (FDA) on existing and proposed regulations
- Petitioning the EPA and CARB to adopt the World Health Organization (WHO) air quality guidelines
We are looking for interns who are self-motivated and have a flexible work style: able to multitask, work well with people of all different ages, genders, backgrounds, ethnicities, religions and learning style preferences. Above all, our interns and volunteers must be caring and dedicated to the betterment of youth.
