Calling all Senior Nursing Students, Nurse Graduates and new RN’s, it is time to apply for our 2024 Spring and Fall Nurse Residency Programs at ChristianaCare.

The ChristianaCare Nurse Residency Program is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs. ChristianaCare Nurse Residency Program is recognized by the ANCC Practice Transition Accreditation Program® (PTAP) as an Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Programs (IRAP).
Residency Programs include Float Pool, Medical or Surgical, Critical Care Pathway, Operating Room, Neonatal ICU, Labor and Delivery, Emergency, Postpartum and Progressive Nurse.
We know through empirical research, graduate nurses who go through a residency program have a higher success rate in practice. Therefore, we are committed to supporting all nurses with under a year of experience through a nurse residency program!
This unique year-long program is a combination of classroom and clinical experiences. Participants will work under the supervision of experienced emergency nurses for the length of the program. Upon program completion, the participant will be hired as a staff member within ChristianaCare. The first 14- 26-weeks (depending upon the specialty) of the program is preceptor led. The hand in hand training is followed by continued residency meetings during months 8, 10, and 12 to further develop as professional nurses and integral members of our caregiver team.
Interested candidates should send their resumes to Bertha Cartwright at Bertha.Cartwright@ChristianaCare.org .
Requirements:
· Graduating from accredited nursing school (BSN Preferred)
· BLS required
· Less than 12 months of nursing experience by the start of the program
· Eligible for Delaware licensure as a Graduate Nurse/Registered Nurse
· It is important to note that the DE licensure process may take 6-8 weeks to complete and the failure to do so will directly impact employees’ ability to start a position if an offer is made.
