The Role
In this role, we are looking for a motivated Software Engineering intern to join our team for a 10 233k internship. In this role, you will work closely with our engineers to develop and improve our products and internal tools. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with experienced software professionals.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in developing new features and APIs for our cloud-based products using Java and GoLang
- Write clean, maintainable code and ensure it meets coding standards
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other engineers
- Diagnose and debug issues with existing code and APIs
- Create documentation for new and existing APIs
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to understand requirements
- Stay up-to-date with latest technologies and industry best practices
Your skills:
- Experience with Java and GoLang or similar languages
- Understanding of web development and API design principles
- Familiarity with Git version control and continuous integration
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Passion for learning and developing new skills
Additional skills that would be nice:
- Experience contributing to open-source projects
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS
- UI/UX design skills
The Candidate
To be eligible for an internship at Sun Life, you must meet the following requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university during the time of internship (June 2024 – August 2024)
- Must be an undergraduate or graduate student in Computer Science or related field
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during intern session
Compensation for this role will be $25/hr.
