Role Description
- This is a full-time on-site role as a Registered Nurse on our Observation Pre/Post Procedure Unit at Columbia Saint Mary’s in Milwaukee, WI. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients before and after surgical procedures and ensure patients meet necessary medical guidelines and are safe for surgical anesthesia. They will also work with a team of healthcare professionals to provide individualized care to each patient.
About the Unit
- The Observation Pre/Post Procedure unit is a a blended short stay unit that provides care to patients having invasive procedures like Cardiac Caths, Pacemakers, Colonoscopies, Interventional Radiology procedures, etc. We also provide care to patients who are post-op and staying for less than 24 hours as well as short stay observation patients who should be discharged within 24-48 hours.

Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Wisconsin required
- Two or more years of experience in med/surg or procedural setting required
- BLS CPR certification obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers
- Ability to provide compassionate, quality patient care in a fast-paced and stressful environment
